Thank you to all of you who visited us at the London Toy Fair this week!

So far we have raised a fantastic £750! But we want to do better than that . . . it is for a good cause after all!

Toymaster Show

It's that time of year again when the toy industry heads up north ( or south depending where you from ) for the annual Toymaster Show in Harrogate. Most will have now heard about the tragic fire at The Majestic Hotel a couple of weeks ago. This has meant the show has been moved to the Harrogate International Centre.

Having had such a short time to re arrange the venue the team at Toymaster have done a fantastic job :-)

Toymaster members and independents alike are welcome to the 3 days show that starts tomorrow.

Classic World Range

At Toy Fair and Gift Fair earlier in the year Bigjigs Toys showcased the Classic World range. Due to arrive in the next couple of weeks the range provides some great new additions to the offering from Bigjigs Toys Ltd.

Made in an ICTI registered factory in China the range is made to a very good standard using some great colours and lovely European style designs.

The range includes the fantastic wooden carpenters set that is set to be a best seller this year. Containing a wide range of lovely wooden tools, nuts and bolts, the set can be used alongside the Powertools Workbench and Tool Belt already available in the Bigjigs range.

For the girls there is the fantastic fairy bar. The magnetic side and handle allow girls to carry round the playset with them wherever they go with all of the pieces inside. Taking the side off allows the grassy to be put out the front of the bar so that the table, chairs and flexible dolls can be set up ready for a drink with friends.

Joy Toys of Malvern

Following the retirement of Ted and Geraldine at Joy Toys Bigjigs Toys are delighted to announce they have acquired the business of Joy Toys of Malvern. Joy Toys started production of Dolls Houses, Farms, Garages and Castles in Malvern in 1969. The core business has changed very little in the intervening years - designs have come and gone, colours have mellowed and production was moved to the Far East in 2006 but quality and innovation have continued.. Ted and Geraldine at Joy Toys were keen to keep larger style, quality toys available to the independent sector of the market. Bigjigs Toys are enthusiastic about adding the Joy Toys range of products to their extensive collection and look forward to showing the range at the Autumn Gift Fair between 6-9th September in Hall 5 Stand B49. Bigjigs Toys will once again be exibiting at both the London Toy Fair @ ExCel (Stand SM25) from the 28th - 31st January and at Spring Fair @ The N.E.C (Hall 5 Stand A18) from the 1st - 5th February.

For the first time we will also be exibiting at Nurnberg Toy Fair (Hall 11.1 Stand NEC07) from 5th - 10th February.

2009 has been an extremely busy sourcing and designing year and we hope that you will be able to visit us at one of the 3 fairs we will be exibiting at to personally view additions to the range and re-acquaint yourselves with familiar lines.

Harrogate Home & Gift Fair 2008

Bigjigs™ Toys Ltd will once again be showing at Harrogate Home & Gift Fair (14th - 16th July 2008). Since the last Trade Fairs back in Feburary there have been over 120 additions the the range. There are some great new additions to the Santoys range - a cutting chocolate cake, a tray of muffins, a fridge and a food mixer to name but a few, to the Bigjigs Rail range - a railway viaduct, a car transporter train and the huge five way engine shed and to the Heimess range - over 40 new items including the mermaid, pirate and horse ranges.

So why not come along to the Harrogate International Centre from 14th - 16th July 2008 and visit us on stand A9

Magnetic Warnings on Toys

To date the use of magnets in toys has not been covered in EN71 Toy Testing legislation. As a part way, temporary solution to the risks posed in some toys, the E.U Commission now requires that a label be attached to certain products containing magnets. Packaging must now show a warning about ingesting magnets. All labels must be on toys by 21st July 2008.

"Warning labels have to be attached to any toy that has a loose of detachable magnet or magnetic part which is small enough to be swallowed by a child. This is the same as the small parts test template as set out under the EN71 European Standard" - EU Rapid Press Release - MEMO/08/128

As a matter of due diligence we are required to ask retailers if they have any of this stock in their possession. Please check your stock levels and notify us by way of the attached form via e-mail, post or fax. The form has on it only the codes of products that need to have this warning label applied.

As of today (1st July 2008) all related stock leaving our warehouse will have the appropriate warnings on.
